LASH EXTENSION

HOME CARE

~ TO ENSURE THE BEST RESULTS ~

Please ensure your lashes and eye area are clean and free from makeup, oil residue, and mascara. Removing all residue thoroughly during the service is complex, and any leftover residue can prevent proper bonding between your natural lashes and extensions.

  • Also, 24 hours before eyelash extensions, do not use any cream, moisturizer, or oils around your eye area, as the oil prevents the glue from bonding properly.

  • Other professional lash techs have trained our Estheticians and have lots of hands-on experience; they are not tied to any particular brand. However, they carefully choose professional products with a good industry reputation. They use high-quality synthetic mink lashes that resemble natural lash hair, which is applied using a high-quality adhesive specially formulated for eyelash extensions.

  • Lash extensions should last until your natural lash sheds; extensions will shed with the natural lash. We naturally shed 1-5 lashes daily. The natural lash growth cycle is between 4-8 weeks; HOWEVER, lifestyle, skin characteristics, and the aftercare you provide play the most crucial role in the durability of your lash extensions.

  • Wash lashes daily, gently, with a non-oily cleanser. Brush daily after lashes have air dried. Please use the cleanser and cleansing brush the lash professional recommends for the best results.

  • DO NOT use regular mascara!

  • If you choose to wear mascara while wearing eyelash extensions, please ensure it is NON-WATERPROOF. While you can use approved mascara, be aware that daily removal of mascara and eye makeup may cause extensions to loosen and shorten their life span. It can also clump the lashes together and, if not removed properly, can look lumpy.

FOR BEST RESULTS, ADJUST THE SLEEPING POSITION SO LASHES ARE LAID ON OR BENT.

  1. It takes approx—2-2.5 hours to apply a complete set of extensions.

  2. It takes approx—1-1.5 hours to do fills.

  3. The book fills every 2-3 weeks to keep lashes full and beautiful

  4. If you care for your eyelashes correctly, fills are required every 2-3 weeks. Smooth Day Spa will not accept any responsibility for the lashes not lasting until the fill date as we only use high-quality products and take the most excellent care while doing the lashes.

  5. Please ensure you will not have any distractions, as you can not open your eyes until the glue is dried. (Ex. Cell Phone, Children)

  6. During treatment, they will tape down your lower lashes to avoid them getting stuck; your eyes must remain closed the whole time to avoid any residue of glue seeping in. They will place an extension on every lash unless the lash is broken or too short of supporting lash.

  7. Once they have finished the treatment, your eyelashes will be detached from the tape gently, and the video will be removed; this may make your eyes water slightly, but this is perfectly normal and will not affect your lashes. They will ensure you are delighted with your lashes before leaving; if you are unhappy, please speak up, and they will sort the issue out immediately.

  8. Immediately after eyelashes have been applied, please wait 24 hours before getting them wet, do not use makeup or creams in the eye area, as the eyelash extensions need this time to bond fully to each lash. Swimming, saunas, hot lights, sun beds, and steam rooms will also prevent the glue from bonding.

  9. You can swim after 48 hours of having eyelash extensions. Just be aware that chlorine can shorten the life of your lashes, so it is best to rinse your lashes after swimming in the ocean or a pool.

  10. Avoid using skin care products, makeup, makeup removers, or solutions near the lashes that contain oil, P.E.G. (polyethylene glycol), propylene glycol, or other glycol-based ingredients while wearing lash extensions. Use of these ingredients may prevent extensions from fully bonding with lashes, shortening the life of your eyelash extensions.

  11. Avoid pulling, rubbing, picking, flicking, and touching your lashes at all times, as this will loosen the glue bond.

  12. If you choose to have your lashes removed, please ensure that it is done by a trained professional to avoid damage to your lashes.

  13. Please be aware of any medical conditions that may affect your lashes, as we can still do them for you but do not accept responsibility if they fall out sooner due to your situation. Conditions that may interfere with your natural lash growth include over/under-active thyroid, undergoing chemotherapy, alopecia, stress, diabetes, etc...

  14. Conditions in which we will not apply eyelash extensions are: stys, conjunctivitis, eye infection, blocked tear duct, and eczema on the eye, as this can cross-contaminate between eyes and irritate you. Also, it is in the best interest of my clients and the high hygiene measures that I do not treat you due to cross-contamination. Please inform us before your appointment of these conditions; we will rebook you once your eye is healthy. Failure to do so could result in a cancellation charge.

LASH CORRECTION

The process of removing lash extensions was poorly applied by another provider. Guiding you thru the process to achieve healthy natural lashes ready for extensions.

  1. Please note that if Smooth Day Spa is doing a *Lash correction for you after treatment elsewhere, some of your lashes may be weakened or damaged and fall out; this is not uncommon. We can not accept responsibility for any natural lash loss. However, we will do our best to help you have healthy, happy lashes again and guide you in the right direction.

  2. We do not like to fill in other therapists’ work as we cannot tell how long their lashes will last on you, and this would look like it was our lashes as you cannot know once they are put on, so please book in for an eyelash removal and complete set to get the most out of your lashes.

  3. The lash will always retain some glue residue, so it’s healthiest to remove the old and start fresh with a new set every four months, based on the professional’s opinion.
